The team met today to accomplish 2 things. First, to establish our baking capabilities and second, to tie down the roles and responsibilities for team members as well as to establish the direction of the business.
Through the test bake, we have ascertained that Michelle and Zhaoye have the skills needed and hence assigned them to R&D, where they will be coming up with the prototype which we will eventually push out to sale. An experiment R&D conducted today was to create our own icing and to test different toppings. Whilst the taste and aesthetics turned out fine, R&D has decided to continue testing out and creating healthier alternatives to keep to our core of providing a healthier snack option. Instead of using purely Quinoa flour in the mixture, R&D will be testing the different ratio of Quinoa flour to baking flour to deliver pleasing and tasty cupcakes
The business model will be centred around seasonal events such as the upcoming Halloween, which will be our first major event. Mitchell will take charge of Public Relations and liaise us with the different organisations we would work with for the various seasonal events.
Aditi and Mona would be working together to take charge of marketing. Aditi would be doing up the website whereas Mona would be doing social media marketing via the various social media apps.
Charles will be in charge of logistics and finance, where his main objective is to source out for suppliers that can allow the team to achieve cost efficiency during production phase. However, he will partake in R&D as well as both Michelle and Zhaoye will be headed overseas for Semester 2 and he would have to take over the baking. Nicholas is in charge of branding where part of his responsibility is to conduct market research and determine the optimal marketing strategy for Aditi and Mona to execute.
Overall, the team is on track and we hope to deliver a strong showing for Halloween.
